There is a growing movement to address issues of healthcare delivery and cost management from the bottom-up. At a local, grassroots level, each one of us has a part to play in creating and maintaining our own healthy community. In Indiana, Better Healthcare for Indiana (BHI) is promoting dialog and information sharing to spur innovation in the state.
In November 2011, BHI held a statewide conference, linking community leaders with state and national healthcare experts. All Healthcare is Local: The Emergence of Healthier Communities allows the viewer to be a part of this lively exchange as we explore the questions:
Are there measures we can take on a local, community level to help control our healthcare and its costs?
What if we decreased our healthcare costs...by decreasing our healthcare needs?
Could it really be as simple as changing ourselves to become more healthy?
