Proving that community-builders come in all sizes, CBC will see how Jonathan Jennings Elementary students, in Charlestown, inspired a community-wide movement through their “Pay It Forward: Acts of Kindness” initiative. The show will also join Eastwood Middle School students in Indianapolis and Franklin College freshmen as they fan out in their respective communities to lend hands and help to local projects. With a visit to Peace Camp near Trafalgar, viewers will see how young adults in the AmeriCorps program are using a rural, nature setting to help youth better understand the importance of diversity appreciation and conflict resolution. And, in CBC’s Focus on Philanthropy, Judy O’Bannon will talk with youth who are supporting community projects through giving as part of the Youth Philanthropy Initiative of Indiana.
