Indianapolis
Family Strengthening Summit 2004 was the occasion for the unveiling
of Strong Families Count Report, a snapshot of how Indianapolis
families are thriving. Mayor Bart Peterson and Fever basketball
star Tamika Catchings talk about the importance and characteristics
of strong families and summit attendees talk about how to strengthen
their families and communities.
Trying
to gauge how families are doing in Marion County
is no small task. But that's just what the Family
Strengthening Coalition set out to accomplish
in its first "Strong
Families Count" report
presented to nearly 1,000 participants at its
fifth annual Family Strengthening Summit held
November 6, 2004 at the Indiana Convention Center.
"Families are an integral part of our society's development,
and it is very important that the community in which we live be
able to support our families. In Indianapolis, the Family Strengthening
Coalition and events such as this summit are a great resource for
families around the city," Mayor Bart Peterson said.
