A Few DNR Campsites Still Available For Holiday Weekend

INDIANAPOLIS- Available campsites are getting harder to find this holiday weekend.

But the Indiana Department of Natural Resources said a few campsites are still available. Fireworks will be prohibited.

Sites at Lincoln and Skakamak state parks are still available for those who prefer primitive or non-electric camping. For those who want electricity, sites are still available at Charlestown State Park and Deam Lake, both in Clark County.

Horse owners can find sites in Brown County, O’Bannon Woods, Potato Creek, Salamonie Lake, Tippecanoe River and Whitewater state properties.

Because of the holiday, there is a three-night minimum requirement for all campsites.

Visit camp.IN.gov or call 1-866-6CAMPIN between noon-8 p.m. to make reservations.

Information about road trips, maps and facilities can be found at stateparks.in.gov.

Campsites are still available for many other summer weekends, including Labor Day weekend, according to the DNR.
