A New Home for Homeless Vets

TERRE HAUTE -- Western Indiana officials have broken ground on a new apartment complex that will cater primarily to homeless veterans and their relatives.

The 30-unit Liberty Village Apartments project in Terre Haute is being spearheaded by Mental Health America of Vigo County.

Executive Director Myra Wilkey said during Thursday's groundbreaking that the apartment complex will help put to rest concerns about a regional lack of space for homeless veterans and their relatives with disabilities.

Wilkey says that the group's hope is that no homeless person "is left without a home."
