Animal Control Training Opportunity

Indianapolis Animal Care and Control is offering a nationally recognized certification program to anyone interested in a career as an animal control officer.

The week-long training course starts on Monday, July 13th and provides potential new employees the chance to get certified.

Kim Wolsiffer, IACC’s Deputy Chief of Enforcement said the classes are the perfect opportunity for rookies.

“I can’t tell you how many emails and questions I’ve already gotten about “Is that something you can provide for us?” to cross that threshold to get into animal control.”  Said Wolsiffer.

Registration for the Professional Animal Control and Enforcement course will be open up until the training starts on Monday and there is a $500 fee.

Wolsiffer said the sessions provide a great chance to get diversified training that’s used by agencies across country.

“There’s a lot of different ideas that bounce around and in some way help all of us develop different things.” Explained Wolsiffer.

IACC plans to hire a new officer soon.
