Annual Blood Drive Expecting Big Turnout

Annual Blood Drive Expecting Big Turnout

A popular blood drive will once again take over Lucas Oil Stadium.  The 14th annual “Bleed Blue” Blood Drive and Health Fair is the largest single-day blood dive in Indiana.

This year, participants will receive a limited-edition Colts football featuring punter Pat McAfee.  The event also features access to the field, free fitness classes and half-price concessions, but appointments will likely be full ahead of Saturday.

Lucy Wehking with the Indiana Blood Center says the family-friendly event is open to everyone.

"If you don't get an opportunity to donate this Saturday there will be plenty of other opportunites to donate throughout the month of December at our eight donor centers," Wehking says.

December is a month when blood donations can fall short because people are so busy.  A complete list of donor center days and mobile sites are online at indianablood.org.
