Health Clinics Open To City Employees

The City of Indianapolis has struck a deal with Indy-based OurHealth to provide clinic services to employees and their families enrolled in high-deductible consumer driven health plans like HSAs.

The city’s move toward high-deductible health care plans last year prompted a lawsuit from fire and police unions. Part of the agreement included access to clinics like the ones being set up by OurHealth.

Dr. Jeff Wells, president of OurHealth says the convenient clinics offer a unique approach to healthcare.

"They’ll be geographically spread throughout the city to provide very quick access for city employees regardless of where they might live or work,"  says Wells.

OurHealth runs three Indy clinics now, and plans to open four more this year. This is the first time that the corporate health care provider has partnered with a city.
