INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Police say a 10-year-old boy has died and three other people who gathered with him for a memorial service were wounded in a shooting on Indianapolis' near north side.

Police say DeShawn Swanson died after the shooting Saturday night. They said a 16-year-old male and two men who also were shot were expected to survive.

Police said the four were shot in the front yard of a home where about a dozen people had gathered for the memorial for an elderly person had died a few days earlier.

Detectives haven't released any information on suspects, but they don't believe the shooting was random.
