INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — The public agencies that oversee Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis are paying up to $2 million to repair pipe insulation in the six-year-old stadium.

Indiana Stadium and Convention Building Authority director John Klipsch says the insulation problem isn't an immediate problem and stems from work done by a contractor that went out for business before the $720 million stadium was completed.

The Indianapolis Star reports the stadium authority and Indianapolis' Capital Improvement Board agreed on a deal to share the repair costs rather than go to court.

Klipsch says the building authority received $13.8 million from bonding and insurance companies toward at least $14.7 million for other work such as repairing roof drains and corroded pipes since the stadium was built.
