SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) — Carol Ann Mooney has announced she will retire as president of St. Mary's College next May.

She has held the position at the Catholic women's college since 2004. The South Bend Tribune reports the college's board of trustees has hired a nationally recognized firm to assist with the search for a new president.

In her final year, Mooney will oversee the college's reaccreditation with the Higher Learning Commission, complete fundraising for a renovation and expansion of Angela Athletic & Wellness Complex, and finalize a new master plan for the campus. St. Mary's also is in the process of launching three new graduate degree programs that will include male students.
