LANSING, Mich. (AP) — Law enforcement agencies in six states, including Indiana, plan participate in a weeklong campaign targeting distracted driving.
The Michigan State Police says its troopers are joining with the Ohio State Highway Patrol and state police in Indiana, Kentucky, Pennsylvania and West Virginia on the effort. The stepped-up enforcement is scheduled to begin Sunday and run through July 26.
Michigan State Police Director Kriste Kibbey Etue says in a statement that the agencies also will be on the lookout for seat belt use and speeding as well as aggressive and impaired driving.
