INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — The National Endowment for the Arts is announcing 11 Indiana arts and culture organizations have been awarded funding grants totaling more than $1.2 million.

The announcement was made Wednesday by the Indiana Arts Commission, which will receive $767,400 to assist with arts endeavors across the state.

The rest of the grants range from $90,000 in some cases, on down to $10,000.

Groups selected as recipients are located in Fishers, Indianapolis, Anderson, Terre Haute, Bloomington, Lafayette, Muncie and Greencastle.

Muncie's $50,000 grant will pay for an artist in residence. Bloomington's $30,000 award is going to the American Folklore Society. And $90,000 will go to a company in Fishers to study the physical, cognitive, social, and emotional effects of music on low-income, older adults.
