WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (AP) — A Purdue University Board of Trustees committee has approved a two-year extension of President Mitch Daniels' contract and 90 percent of his at-risk pay for the 2014-15 school year.

The compensation committee voted Thursday to extend his contract to June 30, 2020, and to award $113,400 of at-risk pay. Daniels must meet certain goals to receive the at-risk pay.

The Lafayette Journal & Courier reports the full Board of Trustees will decide Friday whether to approve the extension and the at-risk pay. That would bring his total compensation to $533,400.

For the 2013-14 school year, Daniels received 88 percent, or $110,880, of at-risk pay.

As part of the contract extension, Daniels also would receive a "retention incentive" of $100,000 in 2016, with an additional $50,000 every year until 2020.
