INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — The Indianapolis Department of Public Works says at least 10 crews will begin working five days a week to patch hundreds of potholes around the city.
The Indianapolis Star reports the Mayor's Action Center has received more than 3,400 pothole complaints this year, compared to about 11,000 complaints it had around the same time last year.
Department spokesman Scott Manning says hot-mix asphalt will be used when work begins Friday, instead of the unheated cold-patch asphalt used to repair more than 2,000 potholes so far this year.
City crews have been filling potholes within about three days after a complaint reaches the Mayor's Action Center.
The city plans to spend more than $34 million for street resurfacing.
