Stretch of I-65 Closed for Repairs

LAFAYETTE, Ind.  — Emergency structural repairs on a bridge have closed a stretch of Interstate 65 near Lafayette for at least 12 hours.

The northbound lanes of I-65 between the State Road 26 Exit and the State Road 25 Exit were closed about 3 p.m. Tuesday. The Indiana Department of Transportation and Walsh Construction currently are working on repairing the bridge.

Authorities are detouring northbound I-65 traffic at the State Road 38 Exit southeast of Lafayette and then through the city to State Road 25. Another option is to exit the interstate at the U.S. 52 exit just north of Lebanon and take that to Lafayette, where it will merge with the detoured traffic.

The bridge being repaired carries traffic over Wildcat Creek.
