Traffic Delays Expected Friday In Conjunction With Presidential Visit

INDIANAPOLIS City officials say Indianapolis commuters should prepare for traffic delays Friday in conjunction with President Barrack Obama’s visit.

Details have not been released to the public related to the timing of the visit and the route President Obama’s motorcade will travel while in Indy, but commuters should be prepared for disruptions to their routine routes.

“It will be an honor to have the President of the United States visit Indianapolis on Friday,” said Director of Public Safety Troy Riggs. “A presidential visit is an extraordinary event for any city, and the day will require our residents and guests to be patient and understanding of the security needs surrounding this event."

Riggs said commuters should allow extra travel time to reach their destination as they make their way around the Indianapolis area Friday.

The Department of Public Safety will assist the United States Secret Service, as needed, during Friday’s visit by President Obama.
