Relationships Grow, Academics Lag After Arlington High School's Turbulent Restart
Arlington Community High School is back under local control after three years of a state mandated takeover. Over the past seven months the behavior problems that once derailed normalcy during the start of the school year have been curtailed as students and staff build relationships. WFYI education reporter Eric Weddle has been spending a lot of time at Arlington since August for the series "A New Day." He says the school's response to a popular student's killing last month reveals small steps of progress and the challenges ahead.

Inspiration, Black History Is Focus of Arlington High School's Comeback Theater Performance
On Saturday Feb. 27 Arlington High School will present Broken Bondage: A Time To Celebrate Us. The production mixes live music, acting, dancing and singing to tell the struggles and inspiration of black Americans. It's the first theatrical performance in the northeast side school since it restarted last summer.

Arlington Shaken By 'Incomprehensible' Shooting Death Of Student
An Arlington High School football player was found dead in a car of an apparent shooting a few blocks just south of the Northeastside school Wednesday. The death of the popular 16-year-old Jaylan Murray plunged the school into a state of shock and mourning. At the start of school Thursday an assembly was held to tell students that the junior was killed.
