Hundreds of protesters gathered inside the Statehouse Monday to oppose plans by state lawmakers to ban abortion in Indiana with few exceptions.

More than 200 Indiana businesses have signed a letter in support of abortion rights. It was published just hours after Indiana Republican Senators proposed a bill that would ban abortions in the state with limited exceptions.

The Bail Project filed a lawsuit Wednesday against the state of Indiana over legislation set to become law on July 1.

Rokita claimed Shabazz was not a “real” journalist, calling him a gossip columnist. Shabazz has long had media credentials that give him access to the state government buildings in downtown Indianapolis.

House Bill 1041 didn't get changed at all in the Senate, which means with a majority of the chamber's approval Tuesday, the bill now heads to Gov. Eric Holcomb's desk for his signature. The House approved the bill in January.
