The Blue Line rapid transit system has been recommended to receive roughly $140 million in support from the federal government.

People living on the far Eastside of Indianapolis will be able to schedule rides from their door and to anywhere within a ten-mile radius.

The changes aim to support and improve walkability, housing diversity and connectivity along bus rapid transit lines and in other areas.

The legislation passed the Senate, but stalled in the House Roads and Transportation Committee after its initial hearing. The deadline for bills to advance is Thursday.
