WFYI’s Community Ambassadors reach out to community members by calling to inform them about the great things happening at WFYI and also ask for continued financial support. WFYI offers a schedule that requires a commitment of at least 3 shifts per week choosing from Sundays (2 to 8:30 pm) and Mondays thru Thursdays (5 to 9 pm), so the amount of possible work hours can range from 12 to 22 per week. WFYI Community Ambassador - Temporary/Part-time
The Position: Reports to Community Ambassador Manager
Responsibilities: WFYI Public Media engages and enriches our community through distinctive programs and services. In order to provide these programs and services WFYI relies on the support of community member donations through phone conversations with WFYI Community Ambassadors. This role is integral to the success and sustainability of WFYI and their impact on the greater Indianapolis community.
Specifically Responsible For:
- Making outbound calls to WFYI members and former members in the greater Indianapolis community and surrounding areas.
- Following calling strategy to secure pledges or other results during the call.
- Properly recording call results on computer based automated calling system.
- Attending initial and ongoing training as needed.
Applicants must be able to clearly and confidently articulate over the phone to WFYI community members and former members. Must be able to sit upright for a maximum of six hours, sometimes less, and possess basic keyboard and mouse skills. Must have pleasant personality, good customer service skills, be a team player, dress appropriately and be able to work and communicate well with the general public, our donors and supporters, other employees, departments, community partners, and volunteers.
