WFYI cares about making a positive difference in our community - and that includes a commitment to helping families enjoy healthier lives.  That's why we're excited to partner with Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield Foundation on 5-2-1-0 Countdown to Health, an exciting new wellness initiative focusing on children and families.

5-2-1-0 Countdown to Health launched June 15, 2013 at PBS KIDS in the Park presented by Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield.  This initiative encourages kids to make simple, everyday choices that establish good habits in nutrition and fitness -- key components for a lifetime of good health. 

Anthem BCBS Foundation is an independent licensee of the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association. 



How to Participate         

First, as a caring adult for a child or children in your life sign-up to receive more information and gain access to online logging tools you and your kids can use to track their progress.  Next, you will receive a confirmation message with important links to use in your 5-2-1-0 Countdown to Health.  And lastly, look for future communications about new features like a 5-2-1-0 Countdown to Health community discussion section, and the addition of more resources from our community partners.

The 5-2-1-0 approach to health is easy and fun.  In fact, the whole family can join in together: 


  • Eat 5 or more fruits and/or vegetables daily by including one serving at every meal and snack.  Learn more.
  • Aim for recreational screen time of 2 hours or less each day.  Make the most of those hours by keeping the brain active with quality interactive media, including television, online games and apps.  Visit for fun, age-appropriate tools.  Learn more.
  • Get 1 hour or more of physical activity a day.  Do what you love: walk, run, swim, hike, play ball, jump rope or dance.  Learn more.
  • Drink 0 sugary drinks.  Fuel your body with water and low-fat milk instead.  Learn more.
