Why is Indianapolis Public Schools asking voters to approve two property tax increases totaling $272 million in the November election?

Join WFYI, Chalkbeat Indiana and the Indianapolis Recorder for "A Conversation About Education: The IPS Tax Referendum" to find out everything you need to know about the IPS tax referendum at 6 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 4, at the Central Library. It will also be live streamed at wfyi.org.

IPS representatives, a Purdue University professor, and others will discuss how schools are funded, the referendum process and answer questions from journalists and those in attendance.
