Carmel's Board of Zoning Appeals voted 3-2 in February to approve the Al Salam Foundation's proposal to construct the city's first mosque.

The Al Salam Foundation says it’s conducting a traffic analysis, in response to concerns that the mosque would bring too much traffic to the neighborhood.
