Now in its 38th year, the night offers an opportunity for police and community members to connect.

The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department will host a variety of free events across the city Tuesday to unite law enforcement and the community.

Indianapolis residents will host more than 140 events across the city as a part of the National Night Out.
