Purdue University President Mitch Daniels confirms the school has reached an agreement to return a gift made by Papa John's Pizza founder John Schnatter.

An online petition has been started asking trustees to reverse the decision and remove Schnatter's name from the university's John H. Schnatter Institute for Entrepreneurship and Free Enterprise.

The Purdue University Board of Trustees says Papa John's founder John Schnatter's name will be removed from the university's economic research center. The governing board will offer to return $8 million donated by Schnatter.

Ball State University's trustees chairman said Friday it accepted John Schnatter's apology and will continue its support of the John H. Schnatter Institute for Entrepreneurship and Free Enterprise.
