Indiana Gov. Eric Holcomb, Purdue President Mitch Daniels, and officials with Saab gathered in West Lafayette Wednesday for the grand opening of a new manufacturing and research facility.

The tax incentives approved Monday by the West Lafayette City Council came ahead of the expected start of construction this month of that plant near the Purdue Airport.

Company officials announced Wednesday plans to spend $37 million on the facility at Purdue University's Discovery Park District Aerospace in West Lafayette.

The facility in Purdue Universitys Discovery Park District Aerospace will produce Saabs portion of the T-X military trainer jet for the U.S. Air Force.
