Indianapolis councilors approve $1.7B budget for 2026, say it was best they could do in bad situation
The Indianapolis City County Council approved its 2026 budget Monday night. It is the largest to date, at $1.7 billion. That is despite losses in funds after state lawmakers’ cut property taxes earlier this year.

Kelsey Mitchell, who scored 15 points, left the game with a leg injury. The Aces took the lead early in overtime and didn’t give it up. The second-seeded Aces, who won the league title in 2022 and 2023, will host the fourth-seeded Phoenix Mercury on Friday.
