Headstrong is series of short documentaries about inspiring female leaders from right here in Indiana. The series will feature seven groundbreaking Hoosiers, including:

• Madam C.J. Walker: first female self-made millionaire in America, an entrepreneur known also for her philanthropy and activism.
• May Wright Sewall: famous suffragist and community arts leader who advocated for women’s right to education in Indiana.
• Ida Husted Harper: suffragist and close friend/biographer of Susan B. Anthony.
• Lillian Thomas Fox: activist and first black journalist to write for a white newspaper in Indiana.
• Mary Ritter Beard: suffragist and historian who tried to include more women in history textbooks.
• Sarah T. Bolton Barrett: poet who fought for women’s property rights in Indiana.
• Marie Stuart Edwards: suffragist, social reformer and founder of League of Women Voters.
