We are looking for a dynamic and tech-savvy Information Technology Intern to join our WFYI Public Media IT department. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain practical experience in the media industry while working on a wide range of IT projects and supporting our broadcasting operations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Interns at WFYI will have the opportunity to learn about multiple areas in the IT department including but not limited to:

  • Microsoft Teams and SharePoint Support: Help work on data structure, migration, and access for efficient Teams usage and best practices.
  • Technical Support: Learn to provide assistance with the setup, configuration, and maintenance of IT equipment and software used in broadcasting, including computers, servers, and broadcast-specific systems.
  • Troubleshooting: Aid in diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues, ensuring minimal downtime and disruption to on-air operations.
  • Broadcast Equipment Integration: Support collaboration with the engineering team to integrate IT solutions into the broadcast environment, such as automation systems, sire remote control, audio/video servers, and media asset management systems.
  •  Documentation: Aid in creating and maintaining technical documentation, including network diagrams, equipment manuals, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to help support broadcasting needs, ensuring that technology solutions meet the demands of a fast-paced media environment.
  • Stay Current: Keep up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies in IT and broadcasting, making recommendations for technology improvements where appropriate.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

To perform this job successfully, an individual must have the following education and/or experience unless otherwise noted below.

Required:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
