Local Group Promotes Giving Tuesday

There's Black Friday, Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday and now add another day to the list.

The second ever Giving Tuesday takes place this week.  The day is dedicated to launching the holiday charitable giving season.   One local organization is asking Hoosiers to help in small ways that can really make a big difference.

Keep Indianapolis Beautiful has a campaign goal to collect $3,000 to buy items they use every day.  Ashlee Wilson Fujawa with Keep Indianapolis Beautiful says the group wants to purchase 30,000 trash bags and 12,000 pairs of gloves which will be put to use starting the first of the year as they kick off seasonal clean-up projects.

"We work with 30,000 volunteers a year so you can only imagine how many gloves, or shovels, or brooms we go through," Wilson Fujawa said.

KIB is running a social media campaign explaining how people can help.  A $10 donation buys 400 trash bags or 30 pairs of gloves.
