It’s the third largest expansion in 40 years at the Children’s Museum of Indianapolis.
Plans were announced Wednesday, June 29th for a 7.5 acre, $35 million dollar project called the
Riley Children’s Health Sports Legends Experience. The project will focus on health and fitness and will include a soccer, hockey, football and track loop, and Indianapolis Motor Speedway Pedal Car Racetrack experience.
The Sports Legends Experience will work with multiple partners throughout the city, including Riley Children’s at Indiana University Health, to fight obesity and honor several sports legends as well as their team.
"our goal is to create an immersive outdoor and indoor familyhealth, fitness and sports experience that will inspire visitors to be active together in a non-competitive way while creating healthy habits that will stay with entire families for a lifetime," said Dr. Jeffrey H. Patchen, President and CEO,The Children's Museum of Indianapolis.
Indianapolis Colts Quarterback Andrew Luck will also have a role in the project—sharing his story with sports and fitness.
