Million Coming To Indianapolis Groups Tackling Poverty

Lilly Endowment Inc. is injecting nearly $94 million to support efforts to improve economic stability for Indianapolis residents. Grants have been awarded to 28 groups that work to address poverty in the city.

The Enhancing Opportunity initiative will reach people disproportionately impacted by poverty through programs that focus on issues including job training, stable housing and legal services. The endowment says the pandemic has only worsened financial instability for many.

Awards range from 180 thousand to more than 8 million dollars.
