Downtown Comics Navigates The Pandemic

Editor's Note: This interview is one in a series of conversations with Indianapolis business owners working to make it through the winter.

As the traditional holiday shopping and spending season begins, we'll bring you a series of conversations with local business owners. In this interview, the owner of Downtown Comics in Indianapolis found ways to stay virtually connected to customers. Doug Stephenson owns the comic store near the circle and told WFYI’s Terri Dee how his 27-year-old business is staying open, despite the decline in foot traffic, as fewer people work downtown.

Terri Dee was the local newscaster for All Things Considered and reports on arts and culture, diversity, equity, inclusion and association, health, and business. She co-hosted WFYI’s award-winning television series, “Where Do We Go From Here?” exploring social, economic, housing, and education inequities experienced by people of color.
