Indiana's high school graduation rate for 2018 remained about the same as last year, at 88.1 percent. That's about a 1 percent increase from 2017, according to data from the Indiana Department of Education.

Nearly 8 percent of graduates failed to pass the final exams required to earn a diploma and received a waiver from the state.

The department also released federal graduation data because accountability measures differ at the state level. Indiana's 2018 federal graduation rate calculations are slightly lower.
