A new medical center is officially the first under the Eskenazi Health name. The health facility is built to represent a community center that also offers health care.
Eskenazi Health West will provide a wide variety of services including primary and urgent care, a rehabilitation center, physical therapy, a radiology department and a mammography suite.
Medical Director, Dr. Ken Klotz says the building was built with healing in mind.
"When you first walk into the facility you have a sense of peace and healing and a calming effect on you," he said.
The center near 38th Street and Moller Road aims to bring comprehensive, culturally focused health care that is available to anyone. Staff will be able to treat around 100 patients a day in the 70,000 square-foot facility.
Wishard-Eskenazi Health is also helping the public navigate the new federally mandated health marketplace.
