Children’s holiday favorite returns with precautions

Opportunities for children to sit on Santa’s lap for pictures and chat about toys were different last year because of COVID-19.

The company that brings Santa to Simon Property Group's malls is taking precautions again this year. But Vice President of Marketing for Cherry Hill Programs, Chris Landtroop said there are safety options for kids.

“We do want it to be the guests’ choice. So, whatever they are most comfortable with; they can keep their face covering on or they can take it off; it is up to the guest,” Landtroop said.

Additional options are available for parents who might have safety concerns but still want their children to visit Santa, said Landtroop.

“We do pre-book reservations at whereissanta.com to help us control numbers. You can text ‘Santa’ to the phone number on the signage when you arrive that will let our staff know that the guest is there.”

Hand sanitizing stations and in-line social distancing protocols will be in place at every mall Santa location.
