Crowds expected downtown for 4th of July Fireworks

Large crowds are expected in downtown Indianapolis for the 4th of July fireworks show.

Downtown Indy Inc. spokesperson Max Wing said there will be roughly 3,500 fireworks all synced to music. The launch site is next to the Regions Tower, 500 N. Meridian St.

“For some of those optimal viewing experiences, we are inviting people out to the Indiana War Memorial Grounds, as well as the American Legion Mall, so those will be your best viewing experiences,” Wing said.

The show is expected to begin at 10 p.m. and last 20 minutes.

Spectators are advised to plan for traffic delays and some road closures downtown.
