Updated at 5:20 p.m.

A student was arrested Wednesday after allegedly starting a fire at Lawrence North High School earlier in the day.

According to the Indianapolis Fire Department, the fire was intentionally set in a boys bathroom paper towel dispenser on the second floor of the school. School security reported the fire at 11:38 a.m.

Students had evacuated the building by the time firefighters got there and the fire was out when they arrived. There were no injuries.

IFD turned the investigation over to the Lawrence Police Department after the cause was determined.

Students were sent home for the day, but evening activites went on as scheduled. Principal Brett Crousore said in a Facebook message that classes would resume at the school on Thursday.
