More than 400 local high school students are needed for summer employment.

Nonprofit TeenWorks is accepting applications for underrepresented and underserved local high students in both Marion and Delaware counties through Feb. 28.

CEO and President, Nick Duvall, said students in the program can earn up to $1,300 for six weeks of employment.

“We will pick them up in their neighborhood, drop them off each day for work experiences and for their professional development learning experiences. We will provide lunch, clothing, and materials,” Duvall said.

A few of the summer worksites include Indianapolis Cultural Trail, People for Urban Progress, Marian University, Big Car Collaborative, Pride Academy, Muncie Community Schools and Second Harvest.

Teens also have a day of paid professional skills development training, covering topics such as financial literacy, time management, resume writing, professional etiquette, and communication.

Applications will be accepted through the end of the month.

Teens can apply online through the TeenWorks website.
