The Move Over Law requires drivers to change lanes and reduce speed by 10 miles an hour when passing emergency vehicles on the side of the road.
Public Information Officer John Perrine says their primary goal is to educate the public.
“We take and enforce action on Slow Down and Move Over every day of the year, Perrine says. “But when we do these campaigns the goal is to get word out that were looking for this and we want people to understand the law and know the law so we can save lives.”
State Police will conduct high visibility enforcement and education of the law on all roadways in the state. Troopers from Ohio, West Virginia, Kentucky, Michigan and Pennsylvania are also participating in the project.
