INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — U.S. Senate candidate Mike Braun has become the latest Republican to call for Indiana Attorney General Curtis Hill to resign amid allegations he drunkenly groped a lawmaker and three legislative staffers.

Braun called the allegations "troubling and serious" in a Tuesday statement that said he supports Gov. Eric Holcomb and state legislative leaders calling for Hill to step down.

Democratic incumbent Joe Donnelly urged Hill to resign last Thursday, calling his alleged actions "outrageous conduct."

Donnelly is facing Braun in what's expected to be one of the nation's most competitive Senate races.

Hill, a Republican, has denied allegations he groped four women during a March party in Indianapolis following the end of the legislative session.

He rejected calls Monday for him to resign, saying he's been unfairly denied "due process."
