Keep Indianapolis Beautiful asks residents to participate Wednesday in a virtual Great Indy Cleanup.

KIB Director of Marketing, Ashley Haynes encourages everyone in the city to come outside at 12:15 p.m. -- stay at a safe social distance apart -- and pick up what litter they see around their neighborhoods.

"You know image everyone in the city stepping outside on their front porch at the same time, waving at neighbors that they haven’t seen in maybe a couple of weeks because we are all doing our part to stay inside," says Haynes.

Wednesday, April 1 also kicks off Earth Month and the celebration of the 50th anniversary of Earth Day.

KIB encourages residents to share their efforts by posting pictures online of how many bags you clean up and tag @kibiorg + #GreatIndyCleanup, and by joining the KIB Litterati Cleanup through the Litterati app, available in app stores.
