Wishard Set To Move To Eskenazi

Hundreds of hospital staff, military personal and volunteers will take part in a major move this weekend.

Over 200 patients will be moved from the old Wishard hospital to the new Eskenazi Health Center on Saturday, December 7.

The delicate operation has been carefully choreographed with a move team assigned to each patient.  The trip will take about 30 minutes for every individual, starting with the emergency department and ending with the burn center.

All patients will travel with a Ticket to Ride, which outlines their specific needs.  The move teams have been practicing daily to avoid any potential hazards.  The Wishard Emergency Department will also close at 6:59 a.m. on Saturday and the Michael and Susan Smith Emergency Department at Wishard Health opens at 7 a.m.

A move day hotline will be available for family to check on their loved ones at (317) 630-6300.
