The federal judge indicated a ruling will come before the law takes effect July 1.

Higher Society of Indiana Inc. says the county violated the First Amendment when the commissioners denied the group's request to hold a June 17 rally on the courthouse grounds.

The waivers cover the costs of some services, but changes the state made to requirements meant some beneficiaries received less money for such services.

Proponents say the law ensures the dignity of all lives and prevents discrimination against those with disabilities. But Planned Parenthood and the ACLU of Indiana say the measure unconstitutionally violates a woman's privacy.

A federal judge will not temporarily halt her ruling on Indiana's refugee resettlement program. The state will have to provide funding to refugee resettlement organizations while the legal battle over money for resettlement continues.

The new law bans women from getting abortions because of fetal genetic defects, and it prohibit abortions from being performed because of a fetus's race, sex or ancestry. Critics of the legislation -- including some Republican lawmakers -- say it goes too far.

The Indiana attorney general's office is asking a federal judge to put on hold her order against Gov. Mike Pence's efforts to bar state agencies from helping Syrian refugees resettle in the state.

A judge ruled Monday in a civil lawsuit against Gov. Mike Pence, saying that Pence cannot deny state funds to Syrian refugees. The ACLU of Indiana is suing Pence on behalf of Exodus.

In a statement, Gov. Mike Pence says he will seek to immediately halt the effects of the judge's ruling and appeal the decision.

The judge dismissed the lawsuit Monday saying the caseworkers don't have the legal right to bring the claim against DCS.
