In a surprising and seismic shift in college athletics, the Big Ten voted Thursday to add Southern California and UCLA as conference members beginning in 2024.

Crowds are expected to descend on Indianapolis once again for numerous games and competitions in March.

The men's tournament will be played March 10-14 at Lucas Oil Stadium, just a few blocks away from Bankers Life Fieldhouse where the women's tourney will take place the same week.

Less than five weeks after pushing fall sports to spring in the name of player safety during the pandemic, the conference changed course Wednesday and said it plans to open its football season the weekend of Oct. 23-24.

The move announced Tuesday comes six days after the conference that includes historic programs such as Ohio State, Michigan, Nebraska and Penn State had released a revised conference-only schedule that it hoped would help it navigate a fall season with potential COVID-19 disruptions.

This is the third consecutive year Westfield will host the men's tournament and the second year for the women's.

The Hoosiers fell 72-69 to the Michigan Wolverines after Michigan's Kameron Chatman hit a corner three-point shot with 0.2 seconds remaining.

In addition to the games there will be a career expo and a 5K run.
