Indianapolis Mayor Joe Hogsett is proposing a new $1.7 billion dollar budget for 2026 — the largest to date — despite the expected decrease in funds from property taxes next year.

More than $1.6 billion in city spending was approved by the Indianapolis City-County Council Monday night.

The Indianapolis City-County Council met on Monday night, and the public had its last chance to comment on the proposed $1.6 billion dollar budget for 2025.
