Commission on Improving the Status of Children in Indiana

The Commission on Improving the Status of Children met online Wednesday to talk about efforts to help children and families in Indiana during the pandemic.

DCS Director Terry Stigdon gave an update on what was happening with the state's independent assessment.

The task force, comprised of top court officials, will examine the opioid epidemic's impact on the justice system.

The Commission on Improving the Status of Children in Indiana was established in 2013, but never had a person whose entire job was dedicated to the commission.

The commission was formed by the General Assembly in 2013 and received a progress report from a national child welfare consultant group.
