Trick-or-treating is sanctioned at different times for communities across the state.

The scariest night of the year can also be a dangerous one for trick-or-treaters who add their costumed pet to the mix.

Trick-or-treat hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Oct. 31.

Following advice from Indiana's health commissioner, Gov. Eric Holcomb announced this past week that he and his wife, Janet, won't host Halloween festivities at the Governor's Residence in Indianapolis.

State health commissioner Dr. Kris Box said she believes there is a safe way that Hoosiers can enjoy Halloween this fall amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Trick-or-treat hours in Indianapolis will be from 6 - 8 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 31. IMPD says it will have extra patrols and enforcement in neighborhoods during these times.
