The Fever announced Wednesday that it will raise the banner during a halftime ceremony on Saturday, June 24. Catchings is a four-time Olympic gold medalist, the WNBA's all-time leading rebounder and No. 2 in scoring.
Following the championship game, the Fever will return to Indianapolis on Thursday morning. The team is expected to arrive at Indianapolis International Airport just before noon. The Indianapolis Airport Authority will throw a Fever Welcome Back Rally at Civic Plaza when the team arrives.
As they've done all playoffs, the Fever found a way to stave off elimination. Indiana is 5-0 in elimination games this postseason and 9-2 since the 2012 playoffs when it beat Minnesota for its lone title.
Briann January scored 17 points and Tamika Catchings had 11 points, nine rebounds and five assists for the Fever, who nearly won their second straight game on the road to open this rematch of the 2012 series won by Indiana.
